Each Walk of FAME features live performers and DJs representing the incredible cultural diversity of California. Dance to Amapiano beats from South Africa, feel the rhythm of Afrobeats, move to Cumbia and Merengue, sing along to today’s hits, and take the stage yourself at our karaoke corner.
Why music matters to our mission: Maternal health disparities affect Black, Brown, Indigenous, and immigrant communities disproportionately. When we center cultural celebration in our advocacy, we’re saying: YOUR culture matters. YOUR music matters. YOUR community deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated—not just included as an afterthought.

Q: Is Walk of FAME family-friendly?
A: Absolutely! The afternoon program (2-6pm) is designed for all ages. We provide professional childcare from 6-11pm so adults can fully engage with the evening program.
Q: Do I have to be on a team?
A: No! You can participate as an individual. However, teams create community, accountability, and are often more successful at fundraising.
Q: What if I don’t reach my $150 fundraising goal?
A: We’ll work with you! If you fall short, you can pay the difference as a ticket purchase or continue fundraising after the event. Our goal is participation, not exclusion.
Q: Is childcare really included?
A: Yes! All registered children receive supervised care from 2-11pm, including dinner, activities, and entertainment. Background-checked staff ensure safety.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Comfortable clothes you can dance in! Many participants dress up for the red carpet moment, then change into dance attire. Think “upscale casual” to “cocktail chic.”
Q: Can I attend multiple Walk of FAME events?
A: YES! Register for as many as you’d like. Some dedicated supporters do the full California tour.
Q: What kind of music will be played?
A: We celebrate cultural diversity through music! Expect live performers and DJs playing everything from Amapiano, Afrobeats, Cumbia, and Merengue to modern hits, R&B, and regional sounds. There’s also a karaoke stage where you can perform. Music reflects the beautiful diversity of our communities.
Q: Are donations tax-deductible?
A: Yes. My Baby My Way Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All donations receive tax receipts.
Q: What COVID or health precautions will be in place?
A: We follow current local health guidelines and can accommodate any safety measures required at the time of each event.
Q: I lost a baby/experienced birth trauma. Will this event be triggering?
A: We’ve designed Walk of FAME with survivors in mind. The Remembrance Ceremony is optional to attend. Quiet spaces are available. Support resources are on-site. You control your experience.
